Deborah Lippmann Harem Silks From Bombay Swatches

Hi!

In the Dark Clouds mani I said I was going to do swatches of the base color I used -- a dark purply shimmer. Well, it was actually a matte polish, but I didn't realize that until I started doing the design:

And it looks pretty nice matte, too! Except I had to seal off the cloud design with top coat, so unfortunately it lost its matte effect. On the other hand (like, my left hand, not the expression) I painted it with this plain color as I can't do nail art with my right hand, and I decided to gloss-ify it because otherwise it wouldn't match the other hand. And it STILL looked kind of amazing: (sorry about the pinky... it had an accident during cleanup and I was too lazy to redo it)

I think the glossy top coat brings out the purple shimmer a little more and makes it look less brown.

This is now my favorite polish (sorry, Sally Hansen Mint Sorbet)! What do you think? Do you like it better matte or glossy?
